Project
Pugachyov

Best Implemented Theatre Set Design
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The fundamental material of this proposal is soaked wood — it refers to fences of abandoned villages, and burnt down houses, and defensive towers.
As a curtain, the soaked wood wall separates the characters and their world from the audience, but when Pugachyov arrives, they move it and reveal the stage. Then, this wall falls apart, and its sections are used as a forest, or a fortress gate. The red spinning will with lots of rope threads symbolizes life and death, harvest and blood. In the end, all the wooden elements are used to build a cage where Pugachyov is imprisoned.
