About the project (provided by the applicant)
Designing within an established historical setting always requires a thoughtful approach. The project's objective is not only to restore and adapt the existing buildings but also to transform them into a student campus that caters to the needs of a modern university.
Two conceptual solutions have been proposed for the site. The first envisions the construction of new buildings, including a public and sports center. The second option focuses on expanding the adjacent area and repurposing existing structures. The courtyard of the former factory dormitory will house a gym and swimming pool, with an artificial landscaped area above to provide a recreational space. The old boiler house will be converted into a public center, while the main building, a cultural heritage site, along with its courtyard extension, will be dedicated entirely to educational functions.
Both solutions also include the restoration of the Chapel of Christ the Almighty, which was lost after the revolution.
