The "Rear" exhibition project was realized by the Alabin Samara Regional Museum of Local Lore for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It explores the role and significance of Kuybyshev and the Kuybyshev Region during this historical period.
The exposition tells the story of the home front city through the eyes of an ordinary teenager forced to grow up early and work at a military plant, taking the place of adults who had left for the front. The exhibition space is divided into thematic zones that introduce visitors to the daily life of wartime Kuybyshev, factory labor, and the fates of evacuated residents.
The exhibition is centered on authentic museum artifacts and archival materials, including industrial equipment, personal belongings of citizens, letters from the front, "TASS Windows" posters, and fragments of an Il-2 aircraft. The exhibition architecture integrates the physical display with multimedia and scenography, creating a cohesive spatial narrative of the city's life during the war years.c
