Project
Refurbishment in London

Nomination
Best Project of Private Residence

About the project
This is an 19th Century Victorian house in need of a refurbishment as well extension onto the rear garden.
The rear of the house is north orientated hence we tried to maximise the intake of natural daylight by adding a glass box made of high-efficiency U-Value glass, and frameless skylights. In contrast with the original London Bricks, the glazed box and skylights we added concrete panels on each of the party walls. As well as adding texture, the concrete panels balances the lightness of the glass.
Italian kitchen comprises of an island and is facing the structureless stairs that link the kicthen/dining area with the spaces above.
