About the project (provided by the applicant) The urbanization of cities, coupled with population growth and outdated regulatory frameworks for healthcare facility design, has led to a demand for modern hospitals that meet the need for comfortable and effective treatment. The project focuses on the renovation of a city hospital in Tolyatti.
The hospital’s traumatology department consists of several functional blocks interconnected by a gallery, creating an internal therapeutic space. The courtyard has a ceiling formed by a wooden frame and transparent glass that unites all the preventive and rehabilitation spaces. The volumetric composition features two five-storey towers housing the ward department, complemented by a spatial, transparent ceiling that horizontally supports the structure of the hospital.
