About the project
The arbor is a perfect example of hardscape architecture from the 1900s and is a landmark of Sestroretsk. Its style comprises Modern and the so-called style a la Russe. This place is known as the Arbor of Shalyapin — they believe that the artist had used it as a stage, although there is no recorded evidence to that.
In the 2000s, the facility was preserved as its facades were in disrepair, but in 2020-21 it was renovated. Its structural pieces were disassembled, the lost elements were reconstructed, and the original color solutions were implemented.
