Project
Residence in the Village

Best Project of Private Residence
About the project
In this project, we continued the study of the nine square paradigms.
This design is a residence that has been shared by generations and is a traditional residence in the village. For generations, there is a need for subtle privacy and public space. We chose the Nine Square Grid-Patio paradigm in landscaped and traditional homes. Through space operation, through the split-level, mezzanine, and ramp, we get a vertical combination of gardens. The four gray spaces provide lighting and ventilation for the four independent blocks.

Applicant and authors of the project
Atelier ZZ (in Chinese means On-Construction Architecture Studio) was founded in Beijing by Zhang Bo and Zhang Qingfan. They love traditional paintings and Chinese classical garden, this nourishing their design imagination. They are trying hard to bring traditional space feelings of garden and painting to architecture design work.
