About the project (provided by the applicant) The residential complex is located on Kondratyevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, in an area rich with cultural heritage sites. Since many historical buildings have not survived, the architecture of the project engages in a dialogue with the lost context.
On one hand, the building references nearby landmarks — the former women’s prison complex on Arsenalnaya Street and the “Phoenix” factory — reinterpreting historical architectural techniques using modern technologies. On the other hand, the façades symbolically reproduce the historical structure of the avenue: this is achieved by dividing the building into separate brick blocks with gaps between them, recalling the varied construction periods and lost fragments of the urban fabric.
