One of the oldest brick rural mosques in Tatarstan, this building serves as both an architectural monument and a center of Islamic education. In 2022, a dedicated charitable fund was established, bringing together contributions from local villagers and benefactors to restore the mosque.
Initial efforts focused on structural stabilization: reinforcing the foundations, waterproofing the plinth, applying hydrophobic treatment to the masonry walls, and strengthening the vaults and walls. Restoration of the building’s historic appearance followed, including the reconstruction of the minaret and tented roof, the restoration of the facades and decorative details, and the recreation of interior stucco moldings, as well as historic window and door frames.
The mosque was restored according to classical conservation canons while seamlessly integrating modern engineering systems. A new museum space was incorporated into the building; featuring its own dedicated entrance, it leaves the sacred areas untouched while expanding the building's functions and transforming it into a vibrant cultural and educational hub.
