Project
Rumyantsev’s Manor — facade restoration

Category
Best Implemented Restoration Project

About the project
Recovery of the facades of the Rumyantsev’s manor is a significant landmark in preservation of the original looks of St. Petersburg.  Renovation works were started in February 2022 after the comprehensive expert assessment of the facility. The renovators had to reinforce the facades, which according to the construction experts involved reinforcement of the foundation in general. Standing close to the Neva, the building had its foundations damaged by multiple floods. This wasn’t the only job that was performed — they also restored the cast-iron railings of the balcony and the granite basement, and did some plasterwork. The bas-relief featuring Apollo Musagetes on Mount Parnassus surrounded with nine Muses and their mother Mnemosyne required some special attention and care, too.
