Architectural and Exhibition Solution for the Exhibition Project Seven (Russia)

Project
Architectural and Exhibition Solution for the Exhibition Project Seven

Category
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The architecture of the Seven exhibition presents a barely perceptible presence of a delicate accent while solving three key tasks: zoning, creating an image in harmony with the exhibition concept, and displaying works within the walls of a cultural heritage site. The exhibition was part of the “Land of People” festival, which over three days introduced residents and visitors of St. Petersburg to the culture and way of life of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of Siberia.

Due to time and format constraints, the curators and producers chose an “experience-based” exhibition format, reflecting the layered and sensitive theme schematically but emotionally. White, light-permeable panels conveyed the idea materially: layers of permafrost and divisions, yet in a conditional way that gave each statement personal space for dialogue with the viewer while maintaining a tangible unity with the exhibition’s concept and all its participants.
