Resolved on a single 120 m² level, Serentha Cabin organizes domestic life through graduated conditions of privacy: one volume holds two bedrooms and bathrooms, the opposite wing accommodates kitchen, living and dining areas, and a courtyard between them acts as an open threshold mediating architecture and landscape. The material language is austere and durable, responding to northern Mexico's climate—corrugated metal cladding protects the exterior, while polished concrete floors, painted drywall and a wood veneer ceiling create a restrained yet warm interior. Exposed steel frames combine with lightweight galvanized framing for precision and rapid construction. Passive and biophilic strategies—framed views, cross ventilation, integrated vegetation and fluid interior-exterior transitions—reinforce environmental performance and a sensory connection to the land. Built by local builders, the cabin proposes a replicable model for rural housing: compact, climate-responsive, and rooted in place.
