Project
Private Residential House
Nomination
Best Student’s Architectural Project
About the project
The house is unusual both in terms of the layout and the facades. The roof is accessible and covered with natural turf grass. It is designed with an open terrace, which can be accessed both from the house and from the outside – right over the roof. There are two tobogganing slides for winter use and comfortable handrails for safe descending.
A highlight of the house is real tree, passing through the entire building. Its body, located within the house, is surrounded with glass, which brings in more light to interior parts of the house and ensures their division both horizontally and vertically. There is also a winter garden with ornamental plants that faces the outside.
There are zones with diverse functions in the house: a parking lot, an outside playground under the roof, its bearing frame supported with a colonnade. Materials of the façade are concrete, wood and masonry.
Location
St. Petersburg, the historic part of Shuvalovo.
