Siru

“Siru” is a mixed-use commercial-residential building seeking its place within the historic fabric of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. Rather than repeating the past or rejecting its context, it aims to create a contemporary identity rooted in its surroundings.

One of the project’s main challenges was its unconventional site, which lacked the predictable geometry of typical urban plots. The design therefore focused on creating the best possible spatial quality within its irregular boundaries. The floors do not follow a repetitive typical layout; each responds to the specific conditions of the plan. This variation continues into the façade, where the differences between the floors become part of the building’s expression.

Ultimately, Siru introduces something new to the repetitive fabric of old Bandar Abbas while remaining connected to, and belonging within, its context.
