About the project (provided by the applicant) The main idea of the project is to create a complex that can be visited not only by tourists but also by local residents. The design introduces the necessary infrastructure to connect a cultural heritage site (the fortress wall) with the urban environment. The project takes into account the site's topography and natural lighting regulations.
The shape of the complex is determined by functional zoning and artistic expressiveness, evoking the image of the Phoenix bird. The façade design is a contemporary reinterpretation of fortification architecture.
The goal of the project is to create contextual architecture that complements the local environment. Special attention is given to adhering to regulations and preserving the cultural appearance of the city.
The entrance group is designed as a stylized tower with full-height glazing. The wall sections between the second-floor windows feature reliefs depicting significant events in the history of the Smolensk region. The accessible roof provides entry to the entire complex area.
