About the project
Sortavala is a unique hub of architectural memorials, where the natural and the urbanistic landscapes co-exist in harmony. The author believes that to make the citizens comfortable and to attract tourists the town needs more beautified and accomplished public spaces. That is why her proposal covers the embankment, the town square, and the boiler house that should be readjusted to become an entertainment center.
The design complies with the up-to-date aesthetic and quality requirements established for public spaces. Special care was given to preservation of the pervading spirit of this place.
