Strelka Complex in Yaroslavl — Regeneration

Category

Best Project of Public Space by Student

About the project (provided by the applicant)

The design site is located in the center of Yaroslavl – this is where Strelka (Spit) Complex stands. This proposal includes comprehensive landscaping works of the entire site, which is 10.5 hectares, building an archeology museum and an art museum. Moreover, the author suggests restoring the former tennis courts with a large amphitheater and renovating Spartakovets Stadium.

The pinnacle of the project is restoring the ruined building with the help of semitransparent nets. This is what Makar refers to as ‘ghosts of the past.’
