Project Reconstruction of the Administrative Building at 39 Telman St., Kaliningrad
Category Best Implemented Reconstruction Project
About the project (provided by the applicant) The history of the Maraunenhof district in Königsberg dates back to the early 17th century. In 1605, a wealthy townsman named Maraun acquired the Löbenicht estate, located in the forest near the Upper Pond. This estate was used as a garden and guest residence, which gave the district its name — Maraunenhof. Active construction in this area began at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when the city was expanding and being improved.
After World War II, the more distant part of the building, located away from modern-day Telman Street, did not survive. The remaining part of the villa was restored.
