“Terem of the 21st Century” private residence

“Terem of the 21st Century” is a contemporary interpretation of Russian architecture. The project demonstrates how historic motifs can organically combine with current technologies, premium materials and a high level of comfort.

At the centre of the composition is a roof with a high ridge and wrought-iron décor. This elegant silhouette refers to fairy-tale terems and classical Russian estates. The façades are clad in natural clinker brick of warm ochre-sand shades, complemented by panoramic glazing and massive wooden structures. A gallery with arched spans is organically integrated into the ensemble; it supports the overall rhythm of the architecture and unites the functional zones of the residence.

Particular attention has been paid to evening lighting: the lighting scenario enhances the spirit of Russian fairy tales. Built-in luminaires and façade wall lights emphasise the texture of the clinker brick, the volumetric plasticity of the walls and the expressive geometry of the roof, changing the perception of the house with the onset of evening. The landscape is a natural continuation of the architecture.
