Project
The National Museum of Cycling, Belgium

Nomination
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition

About the project
Cycling belongs to... everyone! The National Museum of Cycling in Roeselare, Belgium is now called KOERS. The furnishings are brand new. We mapped out the scenographic story in this historic building. The new entrance / shop / tourist reception immediately sets the tone. What follows is a ride through the history of cycling and bike races. The concept of the scenography of The Museum of Cycling is to answer to the question what is Cycling? Well, cycling is culture, cycling is commerce, cycling is funfair, cycling is science ... cycling is above all very colorful, We designed a 40-meter-long exhibition wall on which the museum collection is arranged according to color. KOERS has become much more than a museum. It is the new knowledge and experience center for cycling, and the new hotspot of Roeselare. We also designed the library, shop, workshop space, signage throughout the building.
KOERS has been nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award 2020 (EMYA)
