There are no heroes worth sympathizing in the performance. The play shows people who have lost their virtues and human values. It takes place in the 1920s. The scenography very accurately conveys the tragic farce and political satire. Alexander Klemantovich designed the stage with ROSTA Windows and elements of paintings by artists of the 1920s. The scene changes throughout all the four acts. The mise-en-scènes and costumes ring many bells, causing all kinds of associations and metaphors.
