About the project "La Villa ' is a private residence, located in Holguín, Cuba. Designed as a family test house, it consist of two levels fully adapted to the topography of the land. The main access is through the upper level, where the bedrooms and bathrooms are located. The staircase allows you to observe the landscape through glass panels, in such a way that the person feels un close harmony with nature. The lower level is composed of a dining room, butler kitchen, guest bathrooms and terrace with a modern infinity pool. The construction system used allows to overcome the difficulties of the terrain and allows the natural flow of water in the rainy season. The formal expression takes up concepts of traditional Cuban architecture, taken to current times. It has a geographically privileged location and the volumes are designed to disarticulate the space and offer interesting perspectives from all the surrounding points.
Applicant and authors of the project Maikel Vargas Gonzalez, Cuban architect graduated in 2005 from The University of Camagüey, with Summa Cum Laude.
