The museum complex project comprises two independent, freestanding buildings: a museum and exhibition complex and an art school. The two facilities are located on separate sites and are visually connected to the sculptural complexes by Zurab Tsereteli.

The museum complex is planned on a site bordering the park, where Zurab Tsereteli’s “Sea World” sculptural complex with the “Big Bowl” children’s pool is located. The art school site is situated near the “Coral” sculptural complex.

The proposed location of the museum complex requires the demolition of existing Soviet-era structures — a low-rise hotel and an open-air amphitheatre. Under the project, the amphitheatre will be reconstructed and, with a new architectural identity, will form a unified architectural ensemble together with the museum complex. The school’s location near “Coral” is no coincidence. Young artists, and perhaps future sculptors, will always be able to draw inspiration from this remarkable sculpture while working.
