Project
Wines of Tsymlyansk Plant — Tourist Gentrification
Category
Best Project of Public Building or Facility
About the project
After the global overhaul of the plant’s buildings and equipment it became obvious that it has to be extended further. The overall concept comprises a hotel, a museum, a conference room, a restaurant, a SPA center, and an outdoor gala square. The starting point were the ruined brick alcohol warehouses that had belonged to Prince Constantine, as well Don’s first water mill owned by industrialist Paramonov. By the way, red brick used to build the warehouses in the 19th century was borrowed from the Old Khazar fortress Sarkel, which today is at the bottom of the Tsymlyansk water reservoir.
