On March 7, 2018, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay and Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak signed an agreement to establish the International Competence Center for Mining Education that will be supervised by UNESCO.
This had to be a united education space that would support global mobility for students and postgraduate learners, as well as teachers and scientists both in Russia and abroad. About 2,000 experts from Russia, Asia, and Africa can come here for 2 or 3 weeks and attend lectures and workshops to upgrade their professional skills.
