The former Northern European Joint-Stock Bank building on Vyborg's Market Square was constructed in 1900 to a design by architect Waldemar Aspelin. Today, its historic interiors house the Inter-Settlement Library of the Vyborg District.
The primary objective of the project was the sensitive adaptation of these historical spaces for contemporary public use, strictly avoiding intervention in key historic features. In 2025, Lednik PC LLC carried out a comprehensive program of restoration and repair works, preserving the authentic character of the space.
Special attention was given to the interior lighting scheme, which subtly accents architectural details and underscores the spatial quality of the historic interiors. As a result, the library retains the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century landmark while functioning as a modern, comfortable, and accessible civic space.
