Category
Best Project of Public Space by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad started working in 2004. The reconstruction plan of this faculty was prepared by project architect Dr. Hamed Kamel Nia in 2008 and was built until 2009 and parts of it were put into use.
In this project, the designers worked on the interior architecture of the college to transform the university hangouts into a third place to promote cooperative learning.
By designing collective spaces as academic hangouts in universities, it is possible to help increase students' interaction, participation, and learning. These spaces are social environments that depict students' attitudes, perceptions, and behavioral styles to improve interaction and learning. These places should respond to the needs and expectations of students. It is also a meeting place for people who use it continuously and at relatively fixed times, it is free to attend and people talk, get information and learn, renew their strength, rest, etc.
