Project
Urban Utopia

Nomination
Best Project of Public Space

About the project
As cities grow and become more crowded, we continue to be further separated from all the gifts that nature has to offer. This project includes: An urban plaza that adapts to the social and climate challenges — A Zero Waste Store, green bridges and walls, elevated park, sub-courtyard space, and An Aquarium Restaurant, set to run on solar and wind energy and give surplus energy back to the grid. The surplus is possible as most of the spaces are conditioned without requiring active systems to cool. Passive systems like natural ventilation, evaporative cooling, cross ventilation, etc. All materials and craftsman ship is locally sourced and harmless to the environment. The project pushes the importance of building with nature, creating an Urban Utopia that achieves carbon-neutral and in time a carbon-negative efficiency. Parks, and open space lands serve as “carbon sinks” to store greenhouse gas emissions, to ultimately combat climate
change.
