About the project
The director brings the conflict within the Zheleznov family into the spotlight.
In the center of the stage, the audience sees a green house, and there are two big arched windows in the back. The greenhouse with luxurious white roses is a micromodel of Vassa’s imaginary universe, where flowers bloom as long as you take good care of them. She withdraws her relatives like weeds if she thinks they are not okay. Her delusion that she is doing them good has been captured by the artists — her flowers are beautiful, but they are artificial, or long gone.
