Category Best Restoration or Reconstruction Project by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant) This is a project of reconstruction the warehouse buildings in the historic town of Famagusta into a hub/local meeting point to serve Chamber of Civil Engineers in Cyprus.
In this design, space is born from three-dimensional vectors—intangible forces such as tension, compression, torsion, shear, and bending—that shape both structure and experience. A parametric mesh responds dynamically to these forces, evolving into an organic form that defines the interior. This contemporary intervention stands in deliberate contrast to the building’s historic masonry, yet the two coexist in a careful balance. The structural logic of the new elements complements the enduring textures of the past, achieving a symbiosis where movement and pressure generate both fluidity and function.
Third-year Interior Architecture student at Eastern Mediterranean University. Throughout my studies, I have taken on numerous professional roles during the summer months, primarily in international projects. I am highly proficient with technology, quick to adapt to innovations, and eager to learn. I believe I have proven myself in both academic and professional settings when it comes to communication and team leadership. I have a deep passion for architecture and design.
