Located near Marrakech’s Amelkis golf course, Villa Butterfly draws its concept from the fleeting image of butterflies, translating the ideas of chrysalis and flight into architecture. Designed by Mohamed Amine Siana, the villa combines Moroccan heritage with a contemporary international approach. Its introverted U-shaped façade creates a sense of protection, while the rear opens toward the golf course and Atlas Mountains through expansive glazing framed by steel arches. The architecture contrasts solid, linear forms inspired by the cocoon with soft Arab-Andalusian curves, creating a dialogue between rigidity and lightness. Interiors blend contemporary furniture, Art Deco influences, and Moroccan craftsmanship, with monochrome zellige, local earth, straw, and ochre pigments reflecting Marrakech’s identity. Villa Butterfly explores the balance between tradition and modernity, intimacy and openness, creating a contemporary expression of Marrakech rooted in its cultural heritage.
