Experimental reconstruction of Volkov Square
Category: Best Project of Public Space by Student
The architectural solution for the facades is built on a combination of modern forms and a respectful attitude toward the historical surroundings. The primary objective was not to create a competing object, but to form modern architecture capable of harmoniously coexisting with historical and cultural monuments. To achieve this effect, I used glazing as the main material for the facade cladding. The glazed facades lend lightness and transparency, as if concealing the object against the backdrop of historical buildings, while the thin, lightweight metal structures support the tectonics of the historical development, integrating it with the new structures.
