The waterfront improvement project in Vytegra, commissioned by the city administration, brings together five types of spaces — cultural and historical, recreational, sports and leisure, educational, and service — creating a comfortable and distinctive environment. Based on the authors’ methodology, each type of space is shaped using tools that enhance comfort, wayfinding and identity.

The house of merchant I. Galashevsky is a cultural heritage site and the conceptual centre of the project. It will house exhibitions, workshops, a lecture hall and a café. The recreational zone includes a beach, garden, quiet relaxation area and a lighting-equipped promenade. The sports and leisure zone features a yoga area, children’s playground and Russian croquet court. The educational space comprises a coworking area, garden and the “Boat Forest” route with art objects. Service infrastructure — parking, a pier, the “Pretzel House” and restrooms — is integrated into the landscape and concealed by greenery. The space adapts to the seasons, which is particularly important for northern cities.
