Wooden Meteorology Observatory

Best Implemented Reconstruction Project

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The listed stand-alone one-storey wooden building with sophisticated trefoil layout was built in 1928. It has got a meteorology tower and an astronomy tower, and a sealed dome. From 2010, the planetarium closed its doors for visitors, and in 2021 the building was demolished, and reconstruction works started. In 2023, they were completed. The restorers built a new house that looked just like the old one and undertook a whole range of construction and design works. To make the observatory fit for today’s use, they added a basement floor with a lecture room, a cafe, a cloakroom, and bathrooms, and the star-watching hall was equipped with hi-tech devices.
