Project
Restoration of the young marrieds’ half in the Yusupov Palace
Nomination
Best Implemented Restoration / Reconstruction Project
About the project
The premises at the ground floor of the Yusupov Palace were intended for the newly wed couple – Prince Felix Yusupov and Princess Irina, and comprised several highly artistic interiors, including a princess’s boudoir with a silver alcove, her bedroom and jewelry room, and the prince’s premises at the swimming pool. These interiors designed by Andrey Beloborodov, Sergey Chukhonin, Nikolay Tyrsa, and Vladimir Konashevich uniquely featured typical artistic tastes of the early 20th century.
This project involved comprehensive interior restoration and placement of an exhibition telling about the life of a St. Petersburg family of aristocrats in 1910s.
