About the project
The culture center was initially built in 1982 and is a bright example of Brezhnevist architecture. The area of the building is about 12 thousand sq.m, and it has never been repaired. This restoration project is a delicate intrusion into the historical facility, careful work with the material heritage.
The key idea of the project was maximal saving of authentic elements and recovery of the building’s initial image. All ornamental façade panels, internal staircases and floors of Cuba marbles, along with columns and floors of calcareous sinter and original wave-like ceiling in the large hall were carefully cleaned and saved.
