The leading real estate developer of Northwest Russia supports the international competition of architects, restorers, and designers.

“This year, the Golden Trezzini Awards will be held for the seventh time,” says Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Awards. “And the Setl Group is celebrating its 30th anniversary. We are very pleased that the company is marking its anniversary by becoming our general partner. I am sure that for a real estate developer with roots in St. Petersburg, this is not only a nice gesture but also a very far-sighted one. Without promoting the art of architecture, it is impossible to develop real construction practices at the high level set by the unique aesthetic environment of our city.”

Founded in 1994, Setl Group Holding is the leader in housing construction in St. Petersburg. Over 30 years, the company has built 350 residential buildings, ranging from comfort class to premium segment, housing about 410,000 people, and created 12 new districts. The developer’s land bank comprises 1,924 hectares.

In addition to housing, Setl Group has built 64 social facilities (polyclinics, kindergartens, and schools) and more than 30 km of new roads.

The company pays special attention to the revival of cultural heritage sites. On Vasilievsky Island, Setl Group restored a landmark of the Constructivist era — the Cable workshop with a water tower of the former Krasny Gvozdilshchik (“Red Nailer”) factory. In 2023, this project was honored with the Golden Trezzini Award. The mansion of the industrialist Felix Chopin on Vasilievsky Island was also reconstructed by the company. The restoration of the villa of G.I. Vege and the production building with the chimney of the Kinoviev Ultramarine Factory on the Oktyabrskaya Embankment is in progress.

The International Golden Trezzini Awards recognize outstanding contributions to architecture as art. They were established in honor of Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg. The motto of the Awards is “Architecture as Art.” The main prize is a gilded statuette of Domenico Trezzini. The awards have been held since 2018 under the auspices of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club.

The Golden Trezzini is the only architecture and design award in the world whose winners’ projects become museum exhibits. The works of the winners are included in the State Museum Fund of Architectural Graphics and are exhibited at the “Architecture as Art” exhibition.

The honorary chairman of the International Council of the Awards is Prof. Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum. The Council and the Jury Panel include famous architects, art historians, and cultural and public figures from 33 countries.

Applications for the 7th International Golden Trezzini Awards will be accepted until September 15, 2024, on the Awards’ website. Participation is free. The awards ceremony will be held on November 15, 2024, at the State Hermitage Museum. Participation is free.
