Sultan Mohammad oglu Qasimov was born in the city of Baku on October 19, 1959.
1976—1984: graduated from the Faculty of Labor Economics of the Azerbaijan National Economic Institute.
1979—1981: served in the armed forces.
1981—2009: worked in various positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
1993—1997: received a higher legal education at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
2006—2009: was seconded through the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation.
2009—2016: worked as the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation.
On May 03, 2016, Sultan Qasimov was appointed the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in St. Petersburg.
He has the diplomatic rank of an extraordinary and plenipotentiary envoy of the first class. Awarded the Tereggi medal by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019. Sultan Qasimov is married and has a daughter.
