About the project The project is a renovation of a two storey library with a roof garden at an International School. Spaces are articulated with different hierarchy of student activities from static to active, individual to group. There is a “Cabinet of Curiosity” on each floor, in the form of circle and ellipse made of semi translucent glass elevated from the ground, each connects vertically the space above, creates visual connection and brings daylight in from the skylight. The first floor is a lively, accessible space with communal forum and adjustable booth-seat at its centre, connecting the individual study area, resting area, “Cabinet of Curiosity” on one side and the Sitting Steps and Café on the other. The second floor provides an open, free and comfortable space for students to research and read under the two skylight, as well as a music and dance studio for students to explore a multi-disciplinary experience.
