About the project
Grani Complex is located in the Petrogradsky District, at the premises of the former kerchief and knitting wear owned by Konradi and Engel at the edge of the 19thand 20thcenturies, as well as the Soviet experimental plant of computing machines.The new complex will comprise apartments, offices, a fitness complex, a parking zone, cafes and restaurants.
The concept of the complex was designed in compliance with the listed buildings and the tight development. The point was to demonstrate the nuances of the old and the new. The block at Bolshaya Zelenina Street needed some proportion correction and maximal coordination with the outside context. At the apartment block, dynamic pitched roofs and distinctive moulding lines became the architectural highlights. At the insolation computer-based analysis, these roofs were offered by computers, featuring synthesis of humans and machines.
