About the project The new 70,000 m² Petah Tikva Transportation hub incorporates 9,000 m² of bus terminal, 9,000 m² of retail space and 6 floors and 10,000 m² of office space on top.
The terminal building offers a balance between the need of the passenger to reach the platform fast and the developer’s desire to encourage the visitor’s journey through the retail space. The transportation hub is located at the intersection of central streets connecting the old and the new city and allows for quick and convenient entrances for all users including buses, light rail, train, taxis, bicycles and private cars dropping off passengers. The breaking of a massive rectangular shape into smaller fractions, creates squares, urban spaces and retail facades towards the surrounding streets, turning retail spaces to face outwards and connect with the city. The building’s extroverted design also creates urban spaces suitable for socializing outside the building, serving both the surrounding streets and the city.
