About the project
The stage is designed in the minimalist style: several blocks which are transformed into a table, a bed, a sleigh, and a scaffold for executions. The scenic design also features structures reminiscent of both gallows and a crucifix. Cannonballs, pikes and bayonets, sabers, axes and pitchforks on thin chains appear to symbolize the sword of Damocles, hang over the heroes in the vague twilight of occurrences and battles. The costumes are reminiscent of prisoners’ uniforms and fit the historical setting.
