About the project As times change and generations come and go, human vices and passions remain the same.
Gogol's The Government Inspector is surely laughter through tears - a sharp, well-aimed ridicule and a timeless classic. Anton Svit, a young director from St. Petersburg, staged the play in the modern style, which gave it a new topicality. A comedy of errors depicting a certain historical period turns into an exaggerated and eccentric game with realities of life in Russia. The stage design continues it through an almost grotesque antithesis of a huge and luxurious crystal chandelier and the infinite vastness that literally occupies the entire stage.
