The Organizing Committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design has announced a new member of its jury, Swiss architect of Russian origin Jan Skuratowski.

“Golden Trezzini Awards catapults us back to the beginning of St. Petersburg. It takes us just milliseconds to make this 300 years’ long journey, as buildings by Domenico Trezzini have imprinted in our minds and become a part of St. Petersburg’s myths. The pioneering spirit of the early 18th century, when the city was coming into life and everything was vernal and unknown, can become one of the themes for the Awards. Back to the future! Memories of Trezzini is in a certain way our expression of gratitude to Switzerland and declaration of love to the European architecture,” Mr. Skuratowski said. “I work as an architect in Switzerland, Domenico Trezzini’s homeland, and follow dynamic construction activities at my Eastern home state with great interest. For me, being a part of the Awards is a movement from West to East, a contact with architectonics of today’s Russia.”

Jan Skuratowski, member of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), was born in 1977 in Moscow, Russia. He studied at the University of Arts in Berlin, University of Applied Arts in Vienna and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem (1997—2004). Mr. Skuratowski used to work for NPS Tchoban Voss, Dominique Perrault Architecture, Ortner & Ortner, Herzog & de Meuron, Grüntuch Ernst Architekten, Zvi Hecker Architect etc. He also works as a freelance reporter for various newspapers and magazines in Switzerland, Germany and USA.

Jan Skuratowski started his own architect bureau Jan Skuratowski Architektur in 2015. The company’s projects include Black Villa (House for an Art Collector, prototype, 2018), Art Rhein (project for video and sound installations on Rhein bridges, Basel, Switzerland, 2018), House M (villa in Möhlin, Switzerland, construction 2015—2016).
