Russian designer Yulianna Nikulina decorated a villa in the USA with works by famous artists Michael Maiofis and Yuroz.
Domenico Trezzini, a Swiss who became a great architect in Russia, symbolizes the convergence of world and Russian architectural schools. Some participants of the Third Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design embody this idea in their own way: Russian architects and designers create projects for Western countries. Yulianna Nikulina, founder and designer of YNinterior Studio, is one of them. The studio participates in the awards nomination “Best Implemented Interior Design Project Using Works of Art” with their interior of a villa in California, USA.
A two-storeyed villa of 500 m2 is located on the Californian shore. Featuring the contemporary style with some classic elements, the laconic design fills the entire house. White walls and large windows, opening to amazing landscapes, fill the inner space with air and create an environment of easiness and tranquility.
One of the missions of the project was to highlight the interior design with works of art from the clients’ collection, as well as some new pieces. Notably, design solutions in the diner zone to a certain extent were inspired by works of Yuroz, well-known in California. In the hall, there is a picture by Michael Maiofis, a graphic artist, some of his works owned by the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery.
