Volgabus R&D Center will compete for the title of the “Best Project of Public Building or Facility”

Project of a Research & Development Center for a bus plant in Russia is nominated for Golden Trezzini Award.

The Volgabus Plant making urban electric buses in the Vladimir region, Russia, needed some experimental labs to automate their production. MT.A architectural studio designed a project of a Research & Development Center, which is now participating in the international Golden Trezzini Awards competition, “Best Project of Public Building or Facility” nomination.

A laconic mono-venue of 7,200 m2 comprises six functional units: a museum and representation unit; a conference zone with a restaurant; an R&D laboratories and an office; a fitness venue with a gym; a hotel; and some technical premises.

A sheltered courtyard is intended to demonstrate new buses, as well as hold major events and presentations.

The task was to provide comfortable environment for temporary stay of experts and tourists, as well as to enhance Volgabus’s image, for further engagement of top quality employees and increase of demand for their goods.

The Golden Trezzini website users are welcome to vote for their preferred projects via Facebook, giving them a chance to win Premio del Pubblico Award. 130+ projects from Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Egypt, France, Japan, Iran, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Montenegro, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, the UAE, and the USA are approved for participation at the moment.

The International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg and the founder of Petrine Baroque. The Awards have been held since 2018. The motto of the Awards is “Architecture as Art.” The Awards are intended to acknowledge and promote architectural and designer projects that amount to works of art.

The Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage, St. Petersburg.

Entries for the Third International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design can be submitted at www.goldtrezzini.ru/en/ till October 15, 2020. Participation is free of charge.
