Project “Anatomy of an Iceberg. Arctic. Arkhangelsk”
Category Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition
About the project (provided by the applicant) The exhibition “Anatomy of an Iceberg. Arctic” is a philosophical and artistic synthesis combining Russia’s history, nature, and future. It metaphorically conveys eternal categories through life studies symbolizing hope and pastel works reflecting the fragility of the Arctic.
History is represented through works by Borisov, Pisakhov, and Tyko Vylka, while artifacts such as lighthouse beacons link the past with the present. The future is embodied by works created in the “Museum Study” program, which teaches children through art to observe the Arctic and recognize themselves as part of its continuum.
The exhibition functions as a living system, where time and space act as “sensory organs,” history as the “skeleton,” and the future as the “blood.” Each part reinforces the whole, making the Arctic a symbol of Russian identity.
