Project Mid-Rise Sectional Residential Building “Payol”
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant) The idea of the residential quarter was inspired by its location: the Dudergof Canal embankment and the shore of the Gulf of Finland. The mid-rise sectional residential building “Payol” does not dominate the landscape but complements it organically.
The varying heights of the building sections are designed to create scenic views of the canal and the gulf. Landscaped roofs serve as observation decks, offering panoramas of the coastal landscape.
The “marine” image of the project is reinforced by the combination of façade materials: wooden planking adds warmth and ecological appeal, while light concrete and panoramic glazing create a complex plasticity reminiscent of sails.
Location Leninsky Prospekt, plot 268 (northwest corner of the intersection of Dobrosti Street and Marshal Zakharov Street), St. Petersburg, Russia
